   The McFarland Guide Series was designed to be the finest mid-range fly rod available.  Our Guide Series combines great performance with good looks and an affordable price.  These versatile rods have a smooth medium-fast action that is great for everything from trout to light saltwater fishing.  The taper design of the Guide Series results in a very forgiving rod that is well suited to a variety of casting styles.  These rods handle everything from the smallest dries to the largest nymphs and streamers with ease.  The performance of our Guide Series is comparable to most manufacturer's high-end rods that sell for 2 to 3 times more.  Smooth, dependable performance and a great value make these rods favorites of guides and anglers alike.    Like all McFarland rods, our Guide series is handmade in our central Pennsylvania rod shop and each one is hand signed and serial numbered.  Guide Series rods feature dark green blanks with matching thread wraps and fine metallic silver trim wraps at the ferrules and inscription area.  Trout rods feature genuine nickel silver reel seats with burled wood spacers.  Rods 7 weight and heavier feature a saltwater safe aluminum seat with a green carbon fiber spacer that perfectly complements the rod's dark green color.  Guide Series rods come with our fabric covered, clip top case with a breathable divided liner and feature the McFarland Lifetime Warranty.
